Domestic gold prices continued to fall, trading at around 169.2 million VND per tael. On 23 Apr 2026 11:40, the market reported further declines of 800,000 VND per tael, with both gold jewelry and SJC priced down to 169.2 million VND per tael. At 10:00, SJC bullion prices at Saigon Jewelry Joint Stock Company (SJC), Phu Quý, and Doji were quoted at 166.7 million VND per tael (buy) and 169.2 million VND per tael (sell), a drop of 800,000 VND per tael from the close on 22/4. In the bullion segment, Bảo Tín Minh Châu and Phú Quý quoted prices from 166.2 million to 169.2 million per tael (buy–sell), also down by 800,000. The morning spread between purchase and sale prices remained at 3–3.5 million VND per tael as traders hedge against price volatility. Internationally, the precious metal traded around 4,700 USD per ounce, down 30 USD per ounce from yesterday. Converted at Vietcombank's USD rate, this equates to about 149.2 million VND per tael. Consequently, the domestic SJC price remains about 20 million VND per tael higher than the world price. In contrast, the morning foreign exchange market showed a strengthening trend. The State Bank of Vietnam set the central rate at 25,105 VND/USD, up 5 VND from yesterday's close (22/4). Accordingly, commercial banks also adjusted their rates upward by around 5 VND. Vietcombank quotes 26,100–26,360 VND/USD (buy–sell); VietinBank 26,128–26,360; BIDV 26,130–26,360; Eximbank 26,110–26,360 (buy–sell).
