As of 10:00 on 22 April, the purchase price of SJC gold bars was quoted at 167.2 million VND per tael and the selling price at 169.7 million VND per tael. Both sides were down 900 thousand VND per tael versus the close on 21 April. The trading range of 167.2–169.7 million VND (buy–sell) was also reported by DOJI, PNJ, Bao Tin Minh Chau, Bao Tin Mạnh Hải, and Phú Quý throughout the morning, all down 900 thousand VND per tael on both sides.
In the morning of 22 April, the bid–ask spread for SJC gold bars stood at 2.5 million VND per tael, down 0.5 million VND per tael compared with the start of the week. This was the lowest spread since late January 2026. The Ngọc Thẩm brand maintained a spread of 1.5 million VND per tael.
In the South region, some outlets quoted selling prices lower than others.
In the morning of 22/4, prices for gold bars and “4-number-9” rings fell by an average of 900 thousand VND per tael. This narrowed the gap between domestic gold and world gold by more than 15 million VND per tael since the peak on 20/3, equivalent to a 47.5% decrease.
DOJI remained the highest-priced ring retailer and was the only unit quoting ring prices equal to SJC bars. DOJI set the Tròn 9999 Hung Thịnh Vượng ring price at 167.2–169.2 million VND per tael (buy–sell), unchanged by 10:00. Bao Tín Minh Châu and Bao Tín Mạnh Hải quoted buy prices for plain rings at around 166.7 million VND per tael, with selling prices of 169.7 million and 169.4 million VND per tael, respectively.
Compared with 21 April, the plain ring price at Bao Tín Minh Châu and the 9999-ring price at Bao Tín Mạnh Hải were down 900 thousand VND per tael on both sides.
At market open, SJC recorded a 900 thousand VND per tael drop in both directions, setting the buy price for plain rings at 167 million VND per tael and the sell price at 169.5 million VND per tael. By 10:00, these levels remained stable.
On the world market, as of 10:00 on 22 April, the spot price of gold rose nearly 0.9% to $4,761.5/oz. Domestic gold movements therefore continued to diverge from world prices.
According to Vietcombank’s exchange rate (including taxes and fees), the gap between the domestic bar price and world gold price was about 16.86 million VND per tael. For plain rings priced as “4-number-9,” the spread ranged from 7.16 million to 16.86 million VND per tael, depending on the brand.
