SPDR Gold Trust continued to reduce its holdings for the second consecutive day, bringing its gold position to just over 1,052 tonnes. Over the two sessions, the fund sold around 2 tonnes of gold.
On the same day, the iShares Silver Trust (SLV) sold nearly 22.6 tonnes of silver after a near 68-tonne accumulation in the prior period. SLV currently holds about 15,310 tonnes of silver.
SPDR’s outflows occurred as gold prices on COMEX recovered for the third straight day, reaching around $4,764 per ounce at the close on April 9, up 1%. At times, gold also traded as high as $4,800 per ounce before retreating.
