According to the Thanh Hóa Provincial Portal, on the morning of April 17, a working session between Aeon Mall Vietnam Co., Ltd and the provincial authorities reviewed progress and solutions to ensure the project remains on schedule. Aeon Mall Vietnam proposed three transport routes to connect to Aeon Mall Thanh Hóa: (1) upgrade and complete Au Co Street across the Nhà Le River to link the Aeon Mall Thanh Hóa with the urban center; (2) invest in an Au Co Street segment from the CSEDP road to the planning boundary of the 3446 Quảng Thành residential area, which had been approved by the Thanh Hóa City People’s Committee (Decision 2099/QĐ-UBND dated 10/03/2025); (3) finish the route connecting Võ Nguyên Giáp Street to Aeon Mall Thanh Hóa (Vĩnh Yên Street) and install traffic lights at the junction. The project is planned to open on October 15, according to the project timeline. Mr. Nojima Masaaki, Senior General Manager of the Project Development Division, noted that by the October 15 deadline the project will officially inaugurate and begin selling. Aeon Mall Vietnam hopes for support from local authorities to remove obstacles so the project can realize on schedule, and expressed confidence that once operational the project will contribute to sustainable development in Thanh Hóa. At the conclusion of the meeting, Thanh Hóa provincial Chairman Nguyễn Hoài Anh appreciated Aeon Mall Vietnam’s interest in investing and praised recent progress. The province will create favorable conditions and direct relevant agencies to complete the transport infrastructure connecting the project as proposed by Aeon Mall Vietnam before the Aeon Mall Thanh Hóa goes into operation. The construction of the road links from Đông Sơn 7 to Au Cơ Street and the link from Võ Nguyên Giáp Street to Aeon Mall Thanh Hóa (Vĩnh Yên Street) currently requires rebalancing of funds to fit local conditions; the province will strive to complete these as soon as possible. In addition, the province will prioritize opening additional connecting routes, signage, and traffic-light systems to facilitate smoother operation. This infrastructure is not only for the project but also to modernize Thanh Hóa’s urban appearance. The Aeon Mall Thanh Hóa project began construction on December 9, 2024, located in the Quảng Thành ward (old), now Quảng Phú, Thanh Hóa province. The project has a total investment of 4,157 billion VND, a site area of 10.5 hectares, a built floor area of 120,000 m2, and a leased area of 52,000 m2. Phase 1 comprises a 5-story shopping center and a basement level. This is a modern, multi-functional commercial center offering a range of retail, services, meeting spaces, and entertainment facilities.
