Team1, the global community arm of the Avalanche ecosystem, has rolled out a new Builder Grants program designed to put money directly into the hands of early-stage builders. The program offers two tiers of funding: Mini Grants of up to $10,000 and Accelerator Grants that can reach $30,000. The program launched on July 1, 2026. A voting committee made up of both Avalanche insiders and community members decides who gets funded.
The initiative aims to support budding developers by providing early-stage funding to accelerate project development on the Avalanche platform. By directing resources toward builders, the program seeks to increase activity within the ecosystem.
Mini Grants, capped at $10,000, target what Team1 calls “budding entrepreneurs.” Accelerator Grants, up to $30,000, come with a more rigorous selection process. A voting committee, comprising Avalanche insiders and community members, determines the recipients.
The $1.15 million invested by the Avalanche Foundation in late 2024 is now being recycled into direct builder support. For AVAX holders, more builders on Avalanche means more applications, which means more transactions, and therefore greater demand for the network’s native token.
The limited external coverage of this initiative suggests Team1 is pursuing an inside-focused approach, aiming to convert its existing community of more than 450 members into active builders rather than making a broad market splash.
