On March 28, 2026, at the Gia Lai Investment Promotion Conference 2026, Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of FPT Corporation, delivered a keynote outlining directions to develop Gia Lai into a center for digital technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and regional innovation amid the ongoing digital transformation and AI-driven reshaping of the global economic structure.
FPT also announced cooperation with Gia Lai to invest in education and technology infrastructure.
The Gia Lai Investment Promotion Conference 2026 is part of the opening week of Gia Lai’s National Tourism Year 2026. The event is designed to introduce and promote the locality’s potential, advantages, investment climate, policy framework, and priority sectors, creating conditions for domestic and foreign investors to learn, survey, propose, and implement projects, while expanding cooperation. It also supports local businesses in promoting products, connecting partners, developing production linkages, and enhancing competitiveness.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Truong Gia Binh said the focus should be on building Gia Lai into a center for AI and digital technology in a world where AI is changing how economies, education, and society operate. He emphasized that the key question is no longer whether AI will be applied, but who will master AI and who will be left behind, urging individuals to proactively use AI to boost productivity.
On education, Mr. Truong Gia Binh proposed integrating AI into teaching across the system—from primary school through university—with the aim of “learning AI and learning by AI,” to form a workforce capable of mastering future technologies. For Gia Lai, he said the province should both train human resources and become a destination to attract experts from home and abroad, with FPT accompanying the province in developing technological pillars to build Gia Lai into a leading center in the AI-driven wave.
“FPT commits to accompanying Gia Lai to develop strategic pillars, following Gia Lai’s own path. Because Gia Lai must not only serve Gia Lai but create value for Vietnam and for the world,” he affirmed.
During the conference, FPT representatives joined a signing ceremony with the Gia Lai People’s Committee to promote breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation in Gia Lai province for the 2026–2030 period.
Specifically, FPT plans to participate in researching, proposing, advising, and supporting the implementation of content related to science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation in the province for 2026–2030.
The core technology areas expected to be studied and applied include: AI, semiconductors, data, IoT, cybersecurity, quantum technology, robotics & autonomous devices, along with technologies serving energy, environment, and digital transformation.
“Two sides also signed a memorandum of understanding to coordinate research, surveys and investment opportunities in the Long Van Digital Technology Park, with total investment estimated at about VND 613 billion. In addition, FPT and Gia Lai signed memoranda to cooperate on researching and exploring investment opportunities in education projects in Quy Nhon and Pleiku.”
The cooperative activities and proposals reaffirm FPT’s role as a technology partner accompanying the government, ministries, and local authorities in the national digital transformation process. With a focus on core technologies of strategic importance, FPT said it is gradually helping shape Vietnam’s technology map and disseminating technological capabilities to the region and internationally.
On the sidelines of the conference, FPT showcased its ecosystem of platforms, services, and technology solutions supporting the province and enterprises, drawing attention from many visitors—particularly companies interested in solutions for monitoring operations, optimizing sales, and remote management in an increasingly digitized business environment.
Through partnering with the province in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, FPT said it contributes to Gia Lai’s shift toward a growth model based on knowledge, technology, and innovation, aiming to unlock new, sustainable, high value-added growth in the digital era.
