Ho Chi Minh City’s People’s Committee has issued a plan to hold groundbreaking ceremonies for large-scale, significant projects to celebrate the 51st anniversary of the Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2026). The ceremonies are intended to create momentum for implementing the XIV National Congress of the Communist Party and the city’s congress resolutions, while also reaffirming the city’s commitment to invest in a synchronized, modern infrastructure system to support fast and sustainable development.
The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 8:00 a.m. on April 29, in a hybrid format combining in-person and online participation.
Ho Chi Minh City will organize the groundbreaking for Component 4 of the City Center Square project and for the City Hall complex. The central venue will be located at the intersection of Nguyen Cơ Thạch and Mai Chí Thọ streets in An Khánh ward, on land allocated for the City Center Square and City Hall projects.
At the site, the groundbreaking ceremony will be held in conjunction with the Ho Chi Minh City Metro Line 2 project (Ben Thanh – Thủ Thiêm section) and the Component 4 project (City Center Square) under the broader City Center Square project and City Hall complex.
In addition to the central in-person event, the plan includes online points for other projects and related approvals. These include:
