A new time-flexible traffic plan will adjust lane allocations at different times of day to manage flow near Tan Son Nhat International Airport. In the morning, the direction toward the city center will have four lanes, while the outward direction will have two lanes. In the afternoon, the arrangement will be reversed, with four lanes outbound and two lanes inbound, with lane use further adjusted based on real traffic conditions during peak hours.
Construction units are working to complete median barriers and signage along a stretch of more than 3 kilometers to meet the schedule. Authorities said they will also increase traffic guidance during the initial period to help residents adapt to the new traffic flow.
Officials expect the time-flexible traffic model to ease congestion pressure at the gateway to Tan Son Nhat International Airport, particularly during peak hours when vehicle volume is high.
