The People’s Committee of Lam Dong Province has issued a plan to hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the Phan Thiet Airport project’s civilian aviation component to mark the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2026).
Under the plan, the groundbreaking ceremony will take place from 9:30 to 11:25 on April 27 at the Phan Thiet Airport project area in Mui Ne Ward, Lam Dong Province.

Earlier, Sun Group’s Phan Thiet Airport Limited Liability Company—named as the investor for the civilian aviation component—was approved as the investor for the civilian aviation segment.
Phan Thiet Airport is a dual-use project (military-civilian) that has been planned since 2013. The project covers an area of more than 543 hectares in Thien Nghiep commune (Phan Thiet City, formerly Binh Thuan Province), which is now Mui Ne Ward, Lam Dong Province.
According to the plan, the military component—implemented by the Ministry of Defense—has been completed. The civilian portion has been delayed due to adjustments in scale and investment form.
