Phone scams remain a persistent problem, and the ability to screen calls before answering is increasingly important for consumers. Samsung has added a call-screening feature to its latest flagship line, the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, allowing users to screen calls—particularly from unknown numbers—before engaging.
To enable the feature, open Call Settings and navigate to Apps > Samsung Apps > Call settings. Alternatively, open the Phone app, tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner, and select Settings.
Then select Call Screening and toggle it ON. The system will ask you to choose a language. If you select a language other than English (US), you will need to download the corresponding language pack.
After activation, users can screen calls from unknown numbers as they appear. There is also an automatic screening option.
If you prefer not to use automatic screening, you can start screening manually when a call comes in. Press Call Assist, then select Call screening. Galaxy AI will perform the screening immediately.
Galaxy AI can automatically screen calls from unknown numbers, but users must first enable Auto Screen. The system will prompt users to confirm turning on Caller ID and spam protection. The guidance provided is to turn these options on for better protection.
Once Caller ID and spam protection are enabled, users are prompted to agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Next, enable Block spam and scam calls. Users can choose whether to block all such calls or only the highest-risk scam calls.
Finally, users can specify what types of calls Auto Screen should handle. Options include screening suspected spam and scams or screening unknown callers. The selection can be adjusted based on privacy preferences.
With these steps, a Samsung Galaxy S26 can automatically screen calls to help users avoid scams and unwanted contacts, including malicious callers and nuisance calls.
