Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng met with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung during the South Korean leader’s state visit to Vietnam in Hanoi on April 23.
Earlier, on April 22 at the Presidential Palace, General Secretary and President Tô Lâm and his wife hosted an official welcome ceremony for President Lee Jae Myung, featuring 21 gun salutes. Following the welcome, Lê Minh Hưng held talks with President Lee, witnessed the signing of 21 cooperation documents, and participated in a press conference.
During the talks, the two sides agreed to strengthen political trust and high-level strategic cooperation. They also committed to effectively implement existing cooperation mechanisms and agreements.
The discussions further focused on broadening substantive cooperation in key areas including diplomacy, defense, and security. The leaders also agreed to coordinate efforts to address non-traditional security issues and transnational crime.
As part of the visit, 21 cooperation documents were signed. A press conference followed the talks.
In the evening, Tô Lâm and his wife hosted a grand banquet to welcome President Lee Jae Myung and First Lady. The events were documented by TTXVN, including photos of the meeting between Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng and President Lee Jae Myung.
