Amid rising cybersecurity threats linked to electronic games—particularly those targeting children and students—the Quang Ninh Provincial Police urged the public to remain vigilant and take proactive steps to prevent online fraud and malware risks.
According to Kaspersky, in the second half of 2025, cybersecurity threats related to electronic games increased sharply nationwide. Vietnam recorded the highest increase in Southeast Asia, at over 200%.
Cyber criminals have been exploiting popular games such as Roblox, Minecraft, and Genshin Impact to spread malware, carry out fraud to steal in-game or digital assets, and steal personal information.
In Quang Ninh, the risk is described as more complex due to the province’s developing digital infrastructure and high Internet usage, especially in key wards including Ha Long, Cam Pha, and Uong Bi—areas with many students and gaming service businesses.
In addition, increased travel activity has contributed to wider use of public Wi‑Fi, raising the risk of data theft when users access online platforms.

Quang Ninh Police advised parents to strengthen management and supervision of children’s electronic devices, and to regularly discuss and guide safe Internet use.
They also emphasized that people should:
Residents were further urged to watch for unusual gifts or promotions in games or on social networks, and to proactively install security software and parental control applications to reduce risk.
If signs of fraud are detected or assets are stolen, the police advised people to promptly report to the nearest police authority for support and handling.
According to Quang Ninh Police, raising awareness and taking proactive prevention measures helps protect children and contributes to building a safe and healthy online environment while maintaining public order in the locality.
