To date, 3 packages have been completed: the fencing system, drainage groundwork, and pile driving for the passenger terminal. 12 packages remain under construction.
The total value of work completed is about 64.313/86.357 trillion VND, equivalent to 74.47% of the contract value.
According to the report, labor forces across most packages have declined, notably in packages 4.8 (technical infrastructure and internal port traffic) and 5.10 (passenger terminal construction). Phap Luat cited the main reason as difficulties in paying for completed quantities.
When cash flow slows, contractors have difficulty paying wages and retaining labor. At the same time, many major infrastructure projects nationwide are underway, increasing labor demand. Workers tend to move to other projects with more stable income, creating intense labor competition and making it harder for Long Thành contractors to retain workers.
