After multiple delays, 37.7km of the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway's Components 2 and 3 are largely complete and ready to open to traffic. A mid-April field check shows that the main works for Components 2 and 3, totaling 37.7km, have mostly been completed. The Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway spans 43.7km, crossing Dong Nai Province and Ho Chi Minh City (the former Ba Ria–Vung Tau area) and is divided into three components: Component 1 is 16km, Component 2 is 18.2km, Component 3 is 19.5km. In Component 2, the 18.2km segment from the T2 interchange connecting to the Ho Chi Minh City–Long Thanh–Dau Giay Expressway to the starting point of Component 3 has completed most major works. In the T2 area, the main works have been completed, and the units are rushing to finish the remaining tasks. Meanwhile, Component 3 in Ho Chi Minh City is ready for operation, though some items such as the overpass at Km46 remain under construction. Currently, construction units have temporarily closed the road at theHoi Bài – Châu Pha interchange to complete the remaining works. Works such as installing soundproof glass and completing traffic safety infrastructure have largely been completed. At the terminus, Hoa Long interchange has also completed the main works. The road connecting to the Bien Hoa–Vung Tau Expressway is being accelerated to enable synchronized operation. According to the Project Management Board 85, testing and acceptance work is expected to be completed before April 25. Also, the traffic organization plan will be finalized by April 21–25 to be submitted to the Vietnam Directorate for Roads for approval. It is planned that on April 29, after approval, the main line of Component 2 and some interchange branches will be put into operation, ensuring opening before April 30. To meet the schedule, the project management board has asked contractors and consulting units to increase manpower and focus on finalizing legal documents, traffic organization plans, drainage systems, road shoulder reinforcement, and traffic safety; all remaining works should be completed within April 2026. In case of delays, the involved units will bear responsibility. A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Transport Authority—the investor for Component 3—stated that the main line is ready for operation. When Component 2 in Dong Nai starts operation, the entire Component 3 can operate in sync. Source: Lương Ý, VTC News
