Shares of Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) rose, closing at $21.81, up 1.89%. The move followed disclosures about a large Ethereum staking initiative aligned with Tom Lee’s cryptocurrency investment approach, drawing additional investor attention to Bitmine’s expanding role in Ethereum network resources.
Bitmine executed a series of Ethereum staking transfers totaling about $508 million. Transaction sizes ranged from 14,400 ETH to 32,400 ETH, bringing Bitmine’s total staked ETH position to more than 4 million ETH.
According to the disclosures cited in the report, Tom Lee staked $508.4 million in ETH, and Bitmine has now staked over 4 million ETH, valued at roughly $9.3 billion at current prices. The staked position is described as representing about 10.5% of the total staked ETH supply and about 10.5% of all Ethereum tokens locked in staking contracts, positioning Bitmine among the largest institutional staking participants in the Ethereum ecosystem.
The staking deployment reinforces Bitmine’s ongoing commitment to participating in Ethereum’s validator infrastructure. By staking ETH, the company generates rewards while supporting validator operations, which also reduces circulating ETH available for trading.
In addition to staking, Bitmine’s overall Ethereum holdings exceed 5 million ETH. Current disclosures indicate total holdings approaching 5.07 million ETH, which the report characterizes as more than 4% of Ethereum’s circulating supply. The combination of outright ETH ownership and extensive staking is presented as a way for Bitmine to maintain supply influence while capturing network rewards.
The scale of Bitmine’s locked positions has also fueled discussion about Ethereum’s supply distribution dynamics. Large staking balances reduce liquidity and increase institutional influence tied to governance and treasury-style strategies focused on passive income and direct network participation.
As a result, the report notes that BMNR’s equity performance is increasingly linked to Ethereum integration, with Bitmine’s valuation becoming more correlated with ETH developments. The staking scale is described as a primary driver of heightened institutional interest.
