Following two consecutive flat sessions (May 8-9), both the bid and ask prices for SJC gold bars in the morning session today moved downward. Each downward adjustment reached up to half a million dong per liǎng on both buying and selling sides.
As of 11:00 on May 11, 2026, the buy price for SJC gold bars stood at 162.9 million VND per liǎng and the sell price at 165.9 million VND per liǎng. Compared with the closing price on Friday (May 9), transactions for SJC gold bars were down a total of 1.6 million VND per liǎng.
Other major issuers, including DOJI, PNJ, and Phú Quý, also quoted SJC gold bar prices at 162.9–165.9 million VND per liǎng (buy–sell), down 1.6 million VND per liǎng for both directions.
At the opening of the morning session, Bao Tín Minh Châu quoted buy at 163.4 million and sell at 166.4 million VND per liǎng. The price remained stable through the morning session, down 1.1 million VND per liǎng from the May 9 close.
Bao Tín Mạnh Hải was the only issuer to maintain a sideways trend over three consecutive sessions. As of 11:00, it quoted 164.5 million–167.5 million VND per liǎng (buy–sell), unchanged from the May 9 close.
After two weekend sessions (May 8-9) at 164.5 million–167.5 million VND per liǎng, SJC gold bars in today’s morning session fell sharply. Each issuer recorded 2–3 downward adjustments within the first three hours of market open.
In the southern region, buy and sell prices for SJC gold bars remained 1–2 million VND per liǎng lower than in the north.
For Mi Hồng, after one rise and two drops on the buying side and four alternating moves on the selling side, SJC bar prices declined by 1.0 million VND per liǎng for buying and 0.5 million VND per liǎng for selling. By 11:00, it quoted 163.5 million–165.5 million VND per liǎng.
In the morning session, Ngọc Thẩm’s buy and sell for SJC bars fell by 1.0 million VND per liǎng. By 11:00, it quoted 162.0–165.0 million VND per liǎng, the lowest price among market participants.
PNJ’s plain gold rings also fell sharply by 1.5 million VND per liǎng. By 11:00, PNJ quoted 162.8–165.8 million VND per liǎng.
Phú Quý recorded three consecutive downticks in the morning session. After an initial 0.6 million VND per liǎng decline at opening, it quoted 163.7–166.7 million VND per liǎng. Within less than three hours, Phú Quý’s ring prices declined further by 1.2 million VND per liǎng. By 11:00, its buy price for 9999 ring gold was 162.5 million and the sell price 165.5 million VND per liǎng, down a total of 1.8 million VND per liǎng on each side.
DOJI and Bao Tín Minh Châu quoted the 4-number-9 ring at parity with SJC’s morning trading for 9999 rings, at 162.9–165.9 million VND per liǎng as of 11:00, down 1.6 million VND per liǎng from May 9.

On the world stage, as of 11:00 on May 11, the spot gold price fell nearly 0.6% to 4,687.5 USD/oz. According to Vietcombank rates (tax and fees included), the gap between domestic bar gold and world gold generally stood around 15.33 million VND per liǎng. For 4-number-9 rings, the spread ranged from about 5.93 million to 16.83 million VND per liǎng, depending on the brand.
