Hung Kings' Day and the 30/4–1/5 holiday transport plan. Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc signed Decree No. 30/CĐ-TTg dated April 15, 2026, on strengthening transport activities and ensuring traffic order and safety during the Hung Kings' Festival and the 30/4–1/5 holiday in 2026. According to the decree, this year's holiday travel volume is forecast to rise, creating substantial pressure on the transport system and posing risks of congestion and traffic accidents, while the fuel market remains volatile and directly affects transport businesses. The Prime Minister requires ministries, sectors, and localities to ensure adequate vehicles to meet travel demand, especially passenger transport at railway stations, airports, ports, bus terminals, and ships; avoid situations where passengers lack transport due to reduced trips. At the same time, strict action must be taken against exploitation during peak periods to squeeze passengers or raise prices beyond regulatory limits. The Police are instructed to intensify patrols, inspections, and strictly sanction violations that are the main causes of traffic accidents; promptly prevent illegal street racing and public disturbances. For the Ministry of Construction, the Prime Minister calls for tight management of transport operations, development of plans to increase transport capacity in line with actual demand, and close monitoring of transport costs amid fluctuating fuel prices. Authorities must strengthen inspections and strictly handle violations in transport business, especially with contract cars, fixed-route passenger transports, island-bound maritime transport, and at major transport hubs. Price declarations and postings of transport fares must be strictly enforced; cases of using fuel price increases to arbitrarily raise fares will be punished. The Prime Minister also requests a review of all transport infrastructure, timely additions of signage, convex mirrors, and directional cues in mountainous, limited-visibility areas; and the development of traffic-dispatch plans to prevent prolonged congestion at key entry routes to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, rail and airport hubs, ports, and festival sites. The Ministry of Health is responsible for ensuring emergency medical capacity along key transport corridors and in high-traffic areas; coordinating food safety checks and disease prevention on transport vehicles and transport service areas. The decree also requires ministries and localities to publish hotlines for timely feedback, maintain 24/7 accompanying forces, and submit daily reports to the Ministry of Construction for compilation and reporting to the Prime Minister. Cost pressures are weighing on the transport sector. The government emphasizes strengthening price controls for road transport fares amid volatile fuel prices and tightening management of transport tariffs to prevent price spikes during fuel price fluctuations.
