Nguyen Van Thanh (born 1992) has resigned as Chief Executive Officer of Green SM (Green Smart Mobility) after more than three years at the helm, according to an update from the national
business registry dated 16 June. He stepped down for personal reasons. At around 1:00 pm on 17 June, Thanh posted on his social media that the first two words that came to mind when reflecting on the journey were 'gratitude.' Thanh, who grew up within the Vingroup ecosystem, said he was fortunate to be entrusted with leadership roles and to participate in projects from VinBus and VinFast to GSM. He expressed gratitude for the opportunities to lead various product lines and to work with nearly all aspects of the company across multiple roles, including VinBus, VinFast, GF, and GSM. He highlighted that the most meaningful part was being able to accompany and grow with the people who supported him, whether colleagues, partners, or even strangers who offered quiet support. Thanh noted that the decision to step away was difficult, as seven years is a long time to form habits and attachments. But for personal and family reasons and for future plans, he believed it was time for a new phase. He extended thanks to the Group's leadership, the vice chairmen, and especially the chairman of Vingroup, Pham Nhat Vuong, noting that he learned much about governance, business, and a grand ideal aligned with patriotism and social service, which he will carry forward on his path ahead. He added that he would continue working through July to inaugurate two more markets on the occasion of the seven-year tenure and seven countries, before returning to Ho Chi Minh City. Under Thanh's leadership, Green SM has expanded to 34 provinces nationwide and has extended its services abroad to markets including India, Laos, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Notably, the company's charter capital has surpassed VND 43 trillion, and an initial public offering is being planned. Source: Minh Hang; Market Life News, 17 June 2026, 14:53 (GMT+7).
