The project to connect the Ben Luc–Long Thanh expressway interchange with Rung Sac Road in Can Gio district was approved by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction. The total investment is nearly 2,970 billion dong, funded from the city budget.
The interchange site covers about 21.44 hectares and is designed as a diamond-shaped interchange. It is intended to directly connect the Ben Luc–Long Thanh expressway with Rung Sac Road and the Can Gio bridge approach road in the future.
The project includes the following main components:
Under the design, the tunnel segment width is 79 meters, comprising two tunnel units, each with 3 lanes. The main branches are designed for speeds of 60–80 km/h and a lane scale of 4 to 10 lanes.
The project is planned for implementation from 2025 to 2028.
The total investment exceeds 2,969 billion dong. Compensation, support and resettlement costs are near 994 billion dong, while construction costs are over 1,568 billion dong.
The project is expected to form a new transport axis linking the city center with Bình Khánh, Tam Thôn Hiệp, An Thới Đông, Lý Nhơn, and Long Hòa. It is also expected to strengthen connectivity with the Can Gio bridge, reduce congestion and traffic accidents, and support development of urban areas, industrial zones, and ecotourism along the Rung Sac corridor.
