Within the framework of the project “Joint Effort for Clean Water,” phase 2026–2028, implemented through cooperation between TCP Group and the Vietnam Student Union (VNUS) since December 2025, TCP Vietnam, together with the Center for Support and Development of Vietnamese Students (VSDS), is coordinating activities to raise awareness and promote community action to protect water resources.
A core activity of the program is a seminar series titled “Students, University Students Join Hands for Sustainable Water Resources” across five localities: Can Tho, Tuyen Quang, Nghe An, An Giang, and Gia Lai.
Under the theme “Students, University Students Join Hands for Sustainable Water Resources,” the seminars are designed to raise awareness among students about the importance of clean water and protecting water resources for health and community well-being. The program uses a blended format combining knowledge sharing, interaction, and practical hands-on activities to help young people better understand the current state of water resources, form habits of safe and efficient water use, and strengthen responsibility for safeguarding water resources in their communities.
At the seminars, participants receive an overview of Vietnam’s water resource status and deeper insight into local environmental challenges. In addition to knowledge sharing, attendees can present group projects, take part in Q&A sessions on protecting sustainable water resources, and complete environmental knowledge quizzes. The program also includes the official establishment of local “Green Warrior” teams, followed by a pledge and a kickoff for a cleanup campaign to reinforce practical community action.
After the Can Tho seminar, the series will be rolled out in Tuyen Quang, Nghe An, An Giang, and Gia Lai from May to November 2026. The project said the activities aim to expand reach, broaden knowledge dissemination, and encourage more students to participate in tangible actions to protect water resources in their localities.
Alongside the seminars, TCP Vietnam and the Center for Support and Development of Vietnamese Students continue to organize an online fundraising run titled “Continued Green Energy – For Clean Water,” aimed at raising funds for water filtration systems in localities with limited water access.
The program seeks to establish three “Safe and Clean Water” points in areas lacking water resources due to factors including climate change, salinization, or border-region conditions. The initiative is intended to help bring clean water to residents and broaden shared responsibility for protecting water resources across society. As part of the preparation, field surveys in An Giang have already been conducted to assess needs and conditions to inform subsequent steps.
Lâm Tùng, a member of the Central Executive Committee and Deputy Head of Youth Affairs for the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and Deputy Chairman of the Vietnam Student Union, said: “Currently, water resources in Vietnam and worldwide face serious challenges such as pollution, depletion and unsustainable use, directly affecting living standards and long-term development. In this context, students are not only beneficiaries but also a force capable of delivering positive changes through awareness, action and their expertise. As the future generation, you can help shape how we protect and use water more effectively. We expect the program to stimulate many ideas and innovations related to water resource protection; at the same time, the research products and solutions developed will be practically applicable, helping you translate knowledge into addressing concrete issues. With a proactive, creative and responsible spirit, youth will be the driving force behind spreading positive values and contributing to sustainable development.”
Arjaree Suwangool, External Communications Director of TCP Group, said: “For TCP, sustainable development is not a separate direction but a continuous part of a 70-year journey of growth and community engagement. With the guidance of ‘Continued energy - Renewed vitality’, we believe corporate development must accompany responsibility toward society, community and the environment. Water is the foundation of health, livelihoods and the future of every community. Therefore, through the ‘Chung tay vì nguồn nước sạch’ project, TCP hopes to continue partnering with stakeholders to raise awareness, inspire, and promote tangible actions, especially among the younger generation. For us, investing in water resources is also investing in people and in the shared future of all of us.”
The program also stated that, through planned activities in 2026, “Chung tay vì nguồn nước sạch” aims to raise awareness, inspire action, and create more opportunities for students and the community to participate in practical initiatives for water resources. By combining media, education, youth leadership, community involvement, and practical local solutions, the project is expected to foster a positive lifestyle, establish habits of responsible water use, and support efforts to bring clean water for Vietnam’s sustainable future.
