On April 20, 2026, HoSE will publish the list of stocks included in the VN-Diamond Index, with changes taking effect on May 4, 2026. Based on data as of March 31, 2026, BIDV Securities (BSC) projected the component stock list and the quantity of shares that ETFs tracking the index are expected to buy or sell.
BSC forecasts that no new stocks will be added to the VN-Diamond Index. However, some tickers are expected to see higher weights as ETFs increase exposure. The report highlights expected ETF buying volumes including FPT (4.6 million shares), MBB (900 thousand shares), and TCB (900 thousand shares).
BSC also flagged risks for real estate stock Khang Dien (KDH). The securities firm noted that KDH may be placed on a watchlist for exclusion because the FOL ratio is not able to maintain the minimum threshold of 65%. Under VN-Diamond Index rules, KDH could also face a 50% reduction in its portfolio weight.
As a result, BSC estimates that more than 4 million KDH shares could be sold by ETFs to help remove the stock from the index.
In addition to KDH, BSC indicated that ETFs may trim holdings of other components, including NLG (-3.3 million shares) and HDB (-1 million shares).
The projected buy and sell volumes suggest that the May 4, 2026 effective date could bring notable rebalancing activity for VN-Diamond Index-tracking ETFs, particularly around KDH’s potential exclusion risk and weight reduction, alongside adjustments to other constituents.
