Ripple CTO Emeritus David Schwartz has pushed back against accusations that he misled the XRP community. The dispute followed an X post in which a user accused Schwartz of “fooling the XRP community” and asked whether he planned to delete older statements.
In November 2017, Schwartz tweeted that XRP could not be “dirt cheap” if it were to handle massive global transaction volumes. He says he continues to stand by that assessment, which dates back nearly nine years.
While defending his original position, Schwartz acknowledged that he has considered deleting the tweets. He attributed the consideration to what he described as rampant price speculation within the community.
