On May 8, 2026, most bullion dealers kept SJC bullion buy and sell prices at 164.5 million to 167.5 million VND per tael, unchanged from May 7. The 9999 ring price was lower than bullion by about 0.1–0.5 million VND per tael, depending on the brand.
After two consecutive sessions of gains totaling 2.5 million VND per tael on May 6 and 7, SJC bullion buy and sell prices across dealers were flat. At the morning open, the selling price remained at 167.5 million VND per tael. During the morning, the buy price stayed at 164.5 million and the selling price at 167.5 million per tael. In the afternoon, the same levels were maintained as the previous day’s close.
The 164.5–167.5 million VND per tael range was also quoted by other major dealers including DOJI, PNJ, Bao Tin Minh Chau, Bao Tin Manh Hai, and Phu Quy, unchanged from May 7. In the South, SJC bullion prices were typically about 1 million VND lower than in the North.
The gap between buy and sell for SJC bullion at Mi Hong widened to 2 million VND per tael but remained the smallest spread in the market. Ngoc Tham recorded the smallest total adjustment over the two sessions (May 6–7) with 2 million VND per tael per side.
This morning, buy and sell prices for SJC bullion at Ngoc Tham were flat at 163.5–166.5 million VND per tael. In Ho Chi Minh City, Mi Hong’s selling price for SJC bullion stayed at 166.5 million VND per tael, while the buy price fell to 164.5 million VND per tael from May 7.
Prices for 4-digit rings moved little across brands, with only one southern brand trimming 500,000 VND per tael in both directions. The spread between the highest and lowest listed selling prices across brands was about 11.5 million VND per tael.
By 3:00 PM, DOJI and Bao Tin Minh Chau listed the highest selling prices for 4-digit rings and did not adjust on May 8. DOJI’s buy/sell for 4-digit rings remained at 152.5 million / 156 million VND per tael. Other brands’ 4-digit ring prices were broadly aligned with SJC bullion, for example 164.5–167.5 million VND per tael for some brands, while Phu Quy held at 167.3 million VND per tael.
In the world market, as of 3:00 PM on May 8, 2026, spot gold rose about 0.8% to 4,723.6 USD/oz. Based on Vietcombank’s exchange rate (including taxes and fees), the premium of domestic bullion over world gold was around 15.81 million VND per tael. For 4-digit rings, the premium ranged from about 4.31 million to 15.81 million VND per tael, depending on brand.
