At 2:25 a.m., Sun PhuQuoc Airways flight 9G450 departed Phu Quoc International Airport for Incheon International Airport in Seoul, arriving at 09:55 local time. On the return leg, nearly 230 passengers from Seoul arrived in Phu Quoc on the airline’s inaugural flight, establishing a new direct connectivity link between two destinations with tourism and trade potential.
The Phu Quoc–Seoul route is currently operated daily with one flight per day. In the next phase, the service will increase to two daily flights.
Sun PhuQuoc Airways is also offering promotional benefits for passengers on the route, including complimentary Sun World Hon Thom cable car tickets (valid until the end of June 2026) and discounts of up to 30% on accommodation, dining, spa and entertainment services in Phu Quoc.
The airline described the route as a “strategic connectivity axis,” intended to bring the island closer to the Northeast Asian market and expand connectivity to other regions through one of the region’s major transfer hubs.
Incheon International Airport is positioned as a key aviation hub linking Northeast Asia with North America, Europe and other international markets. The direct Phu Quoc–Seoul connection is designed to capture direct travel demand while providing access to a broader passenger network.
Alongside the route launch, Sun PhuQuoc Airways introduced the Sun Executive Lounge at Phu Quoc International Airport, completing lounge facilities at both terminals. The lounge space is built around an “aviation academy” concept, with design input attributed to architect Bill Bensley, and it combines authentic Vietnamese cuisine with international brands.
The lounge investment is intended to raise service quality and integrate cultural elements into the passenger journey.
The airline also implemented a hotel-based check-in model, enabling passengers to complete check-in and receive boarding passes at their place of stay. Baggage is checked through to the airport via standard procedures, helping passengers save time before departure.
In the early phase, the service is available at hotels including La Festa Phu Quoc - Curio Collection by Hilton and New World Phu Quoc Resort, serving guests in Sunset Town and Bai Kem.
The Phu Quoc–Seoul service is operated as a full-service model, offering meals and checked baggage, as well as Business Class and Priority services.
In the context of rising regional competition, the airline’s centralized service and tourism ecosystem investments are expected to support Vietnam’s efforts to attract international visitors and progressively position Phu Quoc as a new aviation–tourism gateway for the country.
