Unemployment benefits are a workers’ right when they lose their jobs, administered by Vietnam Social Security (BHXH). Under the Employment Law 2025 and Government Decree 374/2025/ND-CP, the process for determining eligibility and submitting an application follows a defined set of steps and documents.
The unemployment benefits application includes three main components:
For employees under fixed-term contracts from at least 1 month to under 12 months, the termination confirmation documents must be the original or a certified copy of the signed contract.
If the employing entity no longer has a legal representative or authorized person, the employee may request the Department of Interior to confirm termination as required.
