In the first quarter of 2026, VietinBank continued to close a large number of transaction offices. By the end of March 2026, the bank had 157 branches and 827 transaction offices, down 18 transaction offices from the end of 2025.
In 2025, VietinBank terminated 108 transaction offices. Taken together, the bank has closed 126 transaction offices over more than a year, while keeping the number of branches unchanged at 157.
Despite the mass closures of transaction offices, VietinBank’s headcount changed only modestly. In Q1 2026, the number of staff decreased by 135 to 22,153. In 2025, the workforce was trimmed by 204.
