Facing competition from large rivals, particularly China, the strategy proposed is “co-opetition.” Instead of direct confrontation, firms can build on globally recognized platform technologies to absorb and develop them.
Mr. Truong Gia Binh said he had discussed with leaders of major groups, including Mr. Nguyen Ba Duong, Mr. Tran Dinh Long, and Mr. Trinh Tien Dung, around a shared goal: “When Vietnam implements projects, each party will take on a unique strength. FPT will take the ‘brain system’ — the software and control.”
FPT leaders said that while Vietnam is a starting market, the ultimate goal is the world. They described modern rail technology as a “fertile ground” because only a few countries master it, while demand in developing countries remains large—creating what they called a “golden opportunity” for FPT to enter international markets.
In competition with major players, especially China, the strategy is “co-opetition.” Rather than head-to-head competition, enterprises can build on and develop foundational technologies recognized globally. The differentiation, according to the proposal, would come from applying advanced technologies such as AI (Artificial Intelligence) and Digital Twin.
These technologies are expected to support optimization of train speed and improvements in operations and maintenance, which are described as core strengths of software technology.
The proposal also argues that the global rail market is large enough for FPT to pursue without necessarily clashing with competitors. After demonstrating capabilities through domestic projects, the alliance would expand internationally together.
Premium gym chains are entering a “golden era” that is ending or already in decline, as rising operating costs collide with shifting consumer preferences toward more flexible, community-based ways to exercise.
