According to a letter dated April 17, the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority said the Middle East crisis had caused serious disruptions to global and regional oil supply chains, negatively affecting airline operations due to fuel shortages. Vietnamese airlines are experiencing a similar situation. The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam asked CAAC to consider directing aviation fuel suppliers, including Sinopec, PetroChina, and China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), to continue to maintain full and stable aviation fuel supply for Vietnamese aviation fuel importers under the contracts signed. Director Vuong Viet Dung said that maintaining fuel supply will help Vietnamese airlines stabilize operations on routes to China, meeting travel demand between the two countries. In the letter, the director emphasized that the request is based on the long-standing friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and China, and recent high-level exchanges. Notably, the state visit to China by General Secretary and President To Lâm reaffirmed the importance of comprehensive cooperation between the two countries on all fronts.
