BHXH Ho Chi Minh City has informed pension recipients and social security beneficiaries about the use of powers of attorney to receive benefits on behalf of others. The guidance applies to cases where an authorization is granted to another person to collect monthly pensions and social security allowances for the beneficiary.
For powers of attorney signed from July 1, 2025, the document is valid for 12 months from the signing date.
For powers of attorney signed before July 1, 2025, validity depends on the expiration date:
BHXH Ho Chi Minh City recommends that pension recipients proactively check the validity of their power of attorney to protect their rights.
The agency also advises renewing the power of attorney document before or during the month it expires to avoid any disruption to monthly pension payments and social security allowances.
In addition, each year, recipients whose BHXH benefits are credited to a personal bank account are responsible for coordinating with BHXH or the service provider authorized by BHXH to verify that they meet the conditions for BHXH benefits.
If the beneficiary’s information cannot be verified, BHXH will suspend monthly pension payments and social security allowances in accordance with regulations.
BHXH Ho Chi Minh City requests that pension recipients and monthly BHXH beneficiaries proactively verify the authorization’s validity and coordinate verification within the deadline. For questions, beneficiaries can contact the nearest BHXH office for timely assistance.
