BitGo unlocks institutional DeFi yield on Aave, Spark, and Tesseract via Narval integration

BitGo Bank & Trust, a subsidiary of BitGo Holdings, announced that access to the Aave, Spark, and Tesseract platforms is now available through an integration with Narval’s institutional gateway. The company said eligible clients of the OCC-regulated banking entity can participate in decentralized finance protocols without moving assets outside BitGo’s qualified custody environment.

A secure bridge to decentralized finance

The integration uses Narval’s delegated connection protocol and software development kit (SDK) for decentralized applications. The announcement states that the gateway’s verification engine analyzes each interaction with smart contracts before a transaction enters the custody approval workflow, including verification of authorized addresses and protocols.

BitGo said the connectivity was designed to preserve traditional governance controls within the on-chain ecosystem. Mike Belshe, CEO of BitGo, said the integration helps institutional clients connect with approved protocols by combining transaction verification processes and authorized access lists within the regulated custody framework.

The operational design is intended to reduce operational risks when interacting with decentralized networks. According to the announcement, Narval’s solution decodes transaction operations into human-readable language for operators to support internal corporate risk management and compliance processes, including reducing blind-signing risks.

Protocols included at launch

BitGo said the initial deployment covers three platforms, each with distinct approaches to yield and liquidity management:

• Aave: described as a decentralized liquidity protocol where users can supply digital assets to earn rewards or request loans using collateral.
• Spark: described as a savings and credit structure oriented toward markets denominated in stablecoins and Ethereum, using programmable vaults that distribute liquidity under predefined rules. The release also references Spark Prime for the corporate sector.
• Tesseract: described as professional management under European regulation, with Dedicated Customer Vaults structured as segregated mandates operated under MiCA authorization by Tesseract Investment Oy, supervised by Finland’s Financial Supervisory Authority (FIN-FSA).

Regulatory and security framework for Tesseract

The announcement says Tesseract’s operating environment includes ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certifications and SOC 2 Type II reports. It also states that, since Tesseract’s establishment in the digital services market in 2017, BitGo’s perimeter access enables real-time tracking of fund ownership and status.

Next steps

BitGo said the next milestone for the infrastructure will involve the progressive addition of new verified financial protocols to the Narval gateway.
