BNB Chain has been highly active in new ERC-8004 agent deployments over the past weeks, emerging as the most established hub for the token-based identity of AI agents. While the new standard has led to chaotic launches as teams tested the opportunity, BNB Chain has become a primary center for daily agent creation.
ERC-8004 agents have spread across the EVM-compatible ecosystem, including legacy L1 and L3 chains. BNB Chain leads with 44,051 agents, followed by Ethereum with 36,512. The standard ties an agent to a non-fungible token (NFT), enabling on-chain traceability and a transparent reputation score.
ERC-8004 agent activity accelerated on Binance after the chain introduced the AI agent identity tokens on March 4, with more than 40,000 agents launched since that date.
Despite the large number of agents, only a small number have reached top positions on a newly launched leaderboard. Some of the leading agents have been deployed by high-profile former crypto influencers, including @malebarista.
The agents rely heavily on reputational reviews, and platforms have not yet demonstrated that the reputation score is resistant to manipulation or result-skewing.
ERC-8004 agent creation has followed a pattern of rapid early growth followed by slower pace on other networks. Ethereum and Base remain key hubs for agent identity tokens, with additional waves of agent creation on Megaeth.
ERC-8004 was first introduced as an Ethereum standard, but it also enabled other networks to create similar tokens. The standard has been deployed for a little over a month, with BNB Chain enabling the agent standard on March 4 and triggering a wave of new launches.
For now, Solana relies on its native agent standard based on Virtuals Protocol. The ERC-8004 agents go further by enabling potential task execution and reputation building.
ERC-8004 agents are also being deployed on networks that have recently shown minimal activity. Where human users are scarce, agent deployment may increase transactions and move liquidity.
However, it remains unclear whether deployments are organic or used to simulate network activity with limited real value. The agents may also have access to MetaMask, participating in the on-chain economy and interacting with DeFi.
Despite the launch of new agents, the X402 standard for AI payments is still showing relatively limited usage. As Cryptopolitan reported, the payment protocol saw an initial spike in activity before falling to a lower baseline.
Agents with ERC-8004 identity can transact with other tokens and interact with smart contracts, reducing the need for a specialized payment channel.

Premium gym chains are entering a “golden era” that is ending or already in decline, as rising operating costs collide with shifting consumer preferences toward more flexible, community-based ways to exercise. Long-term memberships are shrinking, margins are pressured by higher rents and facility expenses, and competition from smaller, more personalized…
