A gambling-dealing ring in Da Nang operated from around November 2025 to the present, with total transactions estimated at nearly 10 billion VND. On 26 April 2026, the Da Nang City Police Department’s Criminal Police Division issued an emergency detention order, arrested five suspects related to gambling offenses, and decided to hold them in custody for investigation.
Five suspects have been indicted. They are:
Authorities previously detected the group organizing betting records in Ba Ren hamlet, Xuan Phu commune, using a tightly closed, multi-tier method. After establishing a dedicated case, the Criminal Police Team, in cooperation with Xuan Phu Commune Police, conducted a check at 17:50 on 24-4 and caught Pham Tu in the act of taking bets from bettors. Police seized two mobile phones containing related data.
During the investigation, authorities determined that from November 2025, Pham Tu contacted Nguyen Anh Tuan to take bets for underlings, earning a commission of 9% of the daily turnover.
Expanding the investigation, police clarified that Nguyen Anh Tuan acted as the hub receiving bets from multiple underlings. Nguyen Anh Tuan then transferred part of the betting proceeds to Le Duc Binh, who forwarded funds to Le Viet Anh—the organizer of the main wins and losses. The investigation also found that Le Duc Binh continued to transfer a portion to an individual named “Hung” (identity unknown) to obtain a commission.
The ring operated from November 2025 to the present, using sophisticated methods that exploited rural areas away from the city center to organize betting and draw residents to participate. Police estimated the total betting turnover at nearly 10 billion VND.
The Da Nang City Police Department’s Criminal Police Division said it is continuing to expand the investigation and strengthen the case file to prosecute the individuals according to the law.
