Dragone, a Belgium-based creative and production company known for large-scale performances, has signed a strategic partnership with Sun Group to expand Vietnam’s entertainment industry and develop a flagship show for APEC 2027 in Phú Quốc.
Founded in 2000 by director Franco Dragone, Dragone is headquartered in Belgium and operates globally. The company is recognized for productions that combine art, technology and immersive audience experiences, including The House of Dancing Water (Macau), La Perle (Dubai), Le Rêve (Las Vegas) and The Han Show (China).
Under the agreement, Sun Group and Dragone will establish a long-term strategic partnership to develop, design, produce and operate large-scale, iconic shows that fuse art, technology and local culture. The initial phase focuses on a “dinner show” at the APEC 2027 Conference Center and Exhibition Center in Phú Quốc, intended to become Dragone’s flagship product and to set a new benchmark for Vietnam’s live entertainment industry and the region.
The project is expected to serve both as an artistic breakthrough and as a strategic element in building an integrated entertainment ecosystem in Phú Quốc. The planned world-class dinner show, designed to operate within the conference center, is expected to create a distinctive signature for APEC 2027 and raise the bar for live entertainment across the region.
At the signing, James Tanabe, Chief Executive of Dragone, said the partnership is driven by alignment on creating products with outstanding artistic value while maintaining operational efficiency and sustainable commercial viability. He also highlighted a commitment to developing products tied to local culture, stating that the combination of Dragone’s creative capabilities and Sun Group’s destination-development perspective will create an experience where art, technology and Vietnamese cultural identity converge.
Nguyen Vu Quynh Anh, Deputy General Director of Sun Group and CEO of the Entertainment - Resort division, said the partnership will position performing arts as a major driver for tourism, raise cultural value and support the growth of Vietnam’s creative industries. She added that it is an opportunity for Vietnam to establish itself on the global arts and entertainment map, particularly ahead of APEC 2027.
Before collaborating with Dragone, Sun Group had already developed multi-media shows in Vietnam, including Symphony of the Sea in Phú Quốc, Symphony of the River in Da Nang and Symphony of the Green Island in Cat Ba. These shows set two Guinness World Records in 2025. The group is also behind Kiss of the Sea, an outdoor theater described as having the world’s largest water-screen capacity.
This year, Sun Group refreshed its entertainment offerings with Afterglow, an 18+ cabaret show, along with performances including Solar Warrior and Happy Fair, positioning each destination as a “living stage” that blends cultural and aesthetic experiences.
Phú Quốc is forecast to become a new global hub for the arts, supported by iconic shows such as Kiss of the Sea, recognized by Guinness World Records for innovations in outdoor theater. The Dragone partnership is expected to mark a new phase for Vietnam’s tourism by positioning performing arts as a core growth driver rather than an add-on, while enhancing cultural value and Vietnam’s creative-export capabilities.
Premium gym chains are entering a “golden era” that is ending or already in decline, as rising operating costs collide with shifting consumer preferences toward more flexible, community-based ways to exercise. Long-term memberships are shrinking, margins are pressured by higher rents and facility expenses, and competition from smaller, more personalized…
