At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Toan, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Finance, reported on the progress of initiating seven projects to mark the 51st anniversary of the South’s liberation and national reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2026) in the city. The seven projects planned to start construction or break ground on April 30 are: Central Square and Ho Chi Minh City Administrative Center, total investment VND 31,500 billion; Rong Wharf – Khanh Hoi Park, total investment VND 20,100 billion; Ben Thanh – Tham Thiem railway, total investment VND 46,300 billion; Ho Tram – Long Thanh Urban Expressway, total investment VND 44,600 billion; International University City in Hoc Mon District, total investment VND 59,000 billion; Cai Mep Ha Port Complex and container terminal, total investment VND 50,800 billion; Can Gio International Transshipment Port, total investment VND 128,872 billion. “These are large projects with significant importance to the city’s development,” the leadership of the City’s Department of Finance said, adding that the Standing Board and the City People’s Committee have directed close supervision and determined to implement with high resolve.
