After operating the first three commercial flights at the end of 2025, the Long Thành airport's air traffic control tower has been completed, with the technical systems ready for operation. In early May, under the characteristic sunshine of the Southeast region, the Long Thành airport construction site maintained its urgent pace. In the area of the component 2 project—the air traffic management facilities—the 123-meter-high control tower rose up, revealing its complete silhouette in the wide space covered by basalt red soil. According to PV from VTC News, from Gate 2 entering the site, the air traffic control tower stood out like a technological milestone amid the large construction site, changing day by day. This is not only an architectural component but is also seen as the 'brain' that will manage all flight operations at Long Thành International Airport in the future. After many years of implementation, the items under project component 2 have basically been completed. The control tower has completed its structure, and the interior and exterior systems have been installed in synchrony. The surrounding supporting facilities have also reached completion, forming a modern flight operation complex. Representing the contractor, Corporation 36, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hai said that the main items have been completed since late 2025, serving the test flights. Notably, on 19 December 2025, Long Thành airport successfully operated the first three flights landing safely. This is an important test milestone, showing the readiness of the infrastructure before commercial operation planned for late 2026. Currently, the project only remains to finish landscaping and interior walkways. At the same time, we are waiting for connection to the power grid and fiber optic lines to complete handover procedures. During the recent holiday, many items were still implemented continuously, as the contractor noted. Not only the air traffic control tower, but a whole series of other technical components have also been completed, such as the primary and secondary radar stations; the VHF radio transmission system; meteorological radar; VOR/DME navigation aids; the MLAT multi-point surveillance; the AWOS automatic weather observation and the LLWAS wind alert system. These components are key to ensuring safe and accurate flight operations under a variety of weather conditions. The air traffic control system at Long Thành is designed with high automation, integrated with many modern technologies and scalable for the future. According to the management unit, this not only meets current operational needs but also lays the foundation for the long-term development of Vietnam's aviation industry. From a construction site scattered with earth and rock, to now, the control tower and air traffic management facilities have been completed, ready to move into operation, contributing to realizing the goal of turning Long Thành into a regional aviation hub.
Premium gym chains are entering a “golden era” that is ending or already in decline, as rising operating costs collide with shifting consumer preferences toward more flexible, community-based ways to exercise.
