The National Traffic Police (CSGT) launched two nationwide operations targeting transport-vehicle compliance and drunk-driving enforcement. After the campaign began on 24 April 2026, CSGT teams set up checkpoints on key routes across the country, detecting and sanctioning thousands of violations in the early hours.
From 19:00 to 24:00 on the same day, authorities checked more than 27,600 vehicles. The crackdown focused on both freight and passenger transport vehicles, with tens of thousands of vehicles brought into inspection to reduce safety risks.
CSGT recorded and sanctioned 1,658 drunk-driving violations, including 1,559 motorcyclists, 7 car drivers, 3 truck drivers, and 89 other vehicles. Total fines are expected to exceed 9.4 billion dong.
Authorities also seized 1,658 vehicles and suspended 189 driving licenses as part of the drunk-driving enforcement.
