PNJ has appointed Mr. Phan Quoc Cong as its new CEO, effective April 3, as part of a succession plan aimed at driving sustainable growth.
According to PNJ’s board of directors, Mr. Phan Quoc Cong was selected for his extensive management experience, his ability to build a system-based organization, lead transformation, and pursue new growth opportunities.
In the governance model, the new CEO will pursue system-based governance, combining technology applications to optimize operations and growth. He will also place emphasis on corporate culture and strengthening the leadership team’s capabilities.
With experience running large-scale enterprises, building consumer brands, managing multi-channel distribution, and expanding business models both vertically and horizontally, Mr. Cong is expected to help PNJ improve operational efficiency, manage risks, and broaden growth drivers in the lifestyle retail segment.
The appointment is also expected to strengthen PNJ’s market position, build internal capacity, and support the company’s entry into a new growth cycle.
In his new role, Mr. Cong said he values the foundation laid by PNJ’s leadership and will continue to inherit and drive innovation. “In the next phase, we will continue to uphold core values, while promoting innovation, enhancing operating capabilities, and applying technology to take PNJ to higher, more sustainable levels with long-term competitiveness,” he said.
Mr. Phan Quoc Cong (born 1970) has more than 30 years of experience in management and leadership. He holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), an MBA, and an electrical engineering degree.
He has held management roles at Electrolux Vietnam, SmithKline Beecham, and Nestlé Vietnam. He is the founder and CEO of International Household Goods Joint Stock Company (ICP), which he helped develop into one of Vietnam’s leading domestic cosmetics/household brands.
From 2015 to date, he has focused on investing in and developing technology-driven businesses, and has served on the boards of PNJ, Mekong Capital, and The Gioi Di Dong. He has also been honored with the EY Entrepreneur of the Year award and is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO).
