On April 23, the Hue City Project Management Board for transport construction projects (PMO) said it had sent a document to the City People’s Committee and the Department of Construction outlining plans to hold a technical opening ceremony for the coastal road project and the Thuận An sea-crossing bridge in Phase 1.
The Thuận An sea-crossing bridge, which is 2.36 km long, is scheduled for its technical opening on April 30. The ceremony will take place at 6:00 a.m. on April 30 to mark the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and national reunification (30.4.1975 – 30.4.2026).
The event venue will be at the M1 Hai Duong pier head, at the northern end of the Thuận An sea-crossing bridge.
To serve the event, the PMO proposed temporarily banning traffic from Ho Van Do Street (the southern approach) up to the sea-crossing bridge during the ceremony to avoid congestion.
The coastal road and bridge project (Phase 1) runs nearly 7.8 km. The bridge spans 2.36 km and has a width ranging from 20 m to 23.5 m.
The project is one of the city’s key transport initiatives, with total investment of over 2,400 billion VND. To date, more than 2,483 billion VND has been allocated, and cumulative disbursement has reached over 2,230 billion VND.
According to the PMO, the main bridge components have been essentially completed, including asphalt concrete surfacing, electrical lighting, guard rails, signage, and lane markings.
For Section 1A toward Hai Duong, asphalt concrete, lighting, signage, and lane markings have been completed.
For Section 1B toward Thuận An, the entire asphalt two-layer surface, lighting, sidewalks, and the vertical drainage system along 300 m after pillar M2 have been completed.
Current focus is on the segment from 300 m after pillar M2 to the Ho Van Do intersection. The first layer of asphalt concrete, lighting, part of the sidewalk, and vertical drainage are expected to be finished by 30 April.
In parallel, cleanup work across the entire route is being carried out to ensure aesthetics and readiness for the technical opening ceremony.
Vietnam is nearing completion of the longest sea-crossing bridge in the central region, valued at 2.4 trillion VND, with an opening planned on a special occasion.

Premium gym chains are entering a “golden era” that is ending or already in decline, as rising operating costs collide with shifting consumer preferences toward more flexible, community-based ways to exercise. Long-term memberships are shrinking, margins are pressured by higher rents and facility expenses, and competition from smaller, more personalized…
