From April 6 to April 12, the Hung Yen Police recorded 74 instances in which road traffic law violations were processed as post-incident penalties. The list was published on the province’s police information portal and includes four categories of offences.
Police surveillance systems detected 12 cases of failing to obey traffic signal commands, involving vehicles identified by license plates shown in accompanying images.
Another 32 violations involved turning around at locations with prohibitory signage for the vehicle type being driven. One case cited license plate 89A-744.15 for wrong-way driving on a road marked with a No U-turn sign.
Through patrols by the Hung Yen Police Traffic Department, 29 speeding violations were recorded, including 25 cars and 4 motorcycles, with license plates shown in accompanying images.
Under Decree 168/2024/NĐ-CP, effective January 1, 2025, fines for car drivers who turn around at a place where turning is prohibited for the vehicle type range from 2 million to 3 million VND. If the turning around causes an accident, fines range from 20 million to 22 million VND.
For motorbike turning around at prohibited locations, fines range from 400,000 to 600,000 VND. If the turning around causes an accident, fines range from 10 million to 14 million VND and there is a deduction of 10 driving-license points.
For cars speeding 5 km/h to under 10 km/h over the limit, fines range from 800,000 to 1,000,000 VND. For 10 km/h to 20 km/h over, fines are 4 million to 6 million VND with 2 points deducted. For 20 km/h to 35 km/h over, fines are 6 million to 8 million VND with 4 points deducted. For over 35 km/h over, fines are 12 million to 14 million VND with 6 points deducted.
If speeding over the limit causes an accident, fines for cars are 20 million to 22 million VND.
For motorbikes, speeding 5 km/h to under 10 km/h over the limit results in fines of 400,000 to 600,000 VND. For 10 km/h to 20 km/h over, fines are 800,000 to 1 million VND. For over 20 km/h over, fines are 6 million to 8 million VND with 4 points deducted.
If speeding causes an accident, motorbike fines range from 10 million to 14 million VND and there is a deduction of 10 points.
Hung Yen Police warned that each traffic order and safety violation carries potential risks of traffic accidents. The authorities urged organizations and individuals with vehicles listed in the post-incident penalty notice to contact the Hung Yen Police Traffic Department to settle the cases in accordance with regulations.
They also reminded vehicle owners on the list to promptly pay post-incident penalties under Decree 168.
