Cardano Web3 wallet Lace has issued a scam alert to the crypto community, warning users about a fake website and phishing attempts. Lace flagged lacedesktop.io as an imitation site and also warned of phishing emails referencing “Lace Desktop 2.0.”
Lace’s warning emphasizes that it will never ask users for their recovery phrase or private keys. The wallet also urged users to stay safe and rely only on official channels.
According to the alert, phishing scams typically involve impersonating a trusted source to trick people into sharing sensitive information. The scam alert comes as Cardano’s privacy network Midnight is set to launch on the mainnet soon, possibly this week. Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson discussed the “Midnight launch week” in a recent video.
In this context, Lace reiterated its security message—stating it will never request recovery phrases or private keys—and directed users to use official channels only.
