As of 9:30 a.m. on April 13, SJC bullion buy and sell prices declined by 900,000 dong per tael compared with the close on April 11. The buy price was 168.5 million dong per tael and the sell price 171.5 million dong per tael, reflecting a 900,000 dong per tael drop on both sides since the market opened. The same 168.5–171.5 million dong range was also quoted by DOJI, PNJ, Bao Tin Minh Chau, Bao Tin Manh Hai, Phu Quy, and Ngoc Tham, each down by 900,000 dong per tael per side.
In the southern region, Mi Hong recorded the largest adjustment in the morning session, with buy prices down by 1.4 million dong and sell prices down by 1.1 million dong per tael. By 9:30, Mi Hong’s SJC bullion traded at 169.3–171.3 million dong per tael (buy–sell), down 1.4 million on the buy side and 1.1 million on the sell side.
On the ring gold market “4-number-9,” businesses also trimmed prices, though the reductions differed by brand, ranging from 700,000 to 1.5 million dong per tael per side. At market open, SJC quoted ring gold “4-number-9” at 168.2–171.2 million dong per tael; by 9:30, the price was unchanged, still down 900,000 dong per tael per side versus the April 11 close.
Across two consecutive sessions (April 11–13), SJC bullion prices fell by a total of 1.3 million dong per tael. For ring gold “4-number-9,” declines ranged from 1.0 million to 1.3 million dong per tael depending on the brand, with Ngoc Tham down by as much as 2 million dong per tael.
After holding at 169.2–172.2 million dong per tael throughout April 11, PNJ reduced ring gold by 1 million dong per tael per side to 168.2–171.2 million dong per tael; as of 9:30, the price remained unchanged. Kim Gia Bao 9999’s copper round ring price fell by 1.1 million dong per tael per side to 168.3–171.3 million dong. Ngoc Tham maintained buy at 156.5 million dong and sell at 160.5 million dong, down 1.5 million per tael.
Ngoc Tham’s ring gold price drop was the strongest, resulting in its sell price sitting well below other northern retailers.
DOJI, Bao Tin Minh Chau, and Phu Quy posted the highest buy/sell prices for ring gold “4-number-9” in the morning session at 168.5–171.5 million dong per tael. Compared with 11/4, ring gold buy prices for these brands decreased by 900,000 dong per tael on each side, and by 9:30 the prices were unchanged. Phu Quy cut 700,000 dong per tael per side at the open, trading at 168.5–171.5 million dong; as of 9:30, it remained unchanged.
On the world market, as of 10:00 on April 13, spot gold fell by more than 0.7% to around 4,716.4 USD/oz.
According to Vietcombank’s exchange rate (including taxes and fees), the spread between domestic bullion prices and world gold was about 20.08 million dong per tael. For ring gold “4-number-9,” the spread ranged from 9.08 million to 20.08 million dong per tael depending on the brand.
In domestic terms, gold prices eased within a tight range as markets remained cautious.
