On April 28, 2026, Sun Group officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Keppel EaaS Vietnam Limited (a subsidiary of Keppel Corporation, Singapore) in the field of energy optimization and green transformation solutions. This milestone not only strengthens and deepens ESG standardization—the environmental, social, and governance metrics used to assess sustainable development and the company’s impact on the community—but also establishes a new reference framework for smart energy management across Sun Group’s destinations nationwide. Keppel, founded in 1968, is a multinational group with global influence, with Temasek Holdings as its largest shareholder. In international markets, Keppel EaaS is known as the developer and operator of District Cooling (regional cooling) systems—the first and largest of its kind in Singapore—owning a portfolio of more than 100 projects with total designed capacity exceeding 380,000 RT across countries such as Thailand, China, Singapore and Vietnam. Through the agreement signed on April 28, the two parties establish a relationship based on four solid technology pillars to be applied to Sun Group’s projects nationwide. Notably is the Cooling-as-a-Service (CaaS) solution, a core link that leverages Keppel’s strengths to address Sun Group’s operational challenges directly, thereby enabling breakthroughs in energy savings and realizing carbon emission reductions across the system. In parallel, the two entities will jointly advance clean energy solutions such as solar energy harvesting and the construction of electric-vehicle charging stations. These solutions will be deployed in a coordinated manner to foster green and sustainable travel destinations, especially in Phú Quốc, where Hon Thom is set to become a model “green island.” Prioritizing clean transportation infrastructure will not only reduce environmental impact but also create a zero-emission resort environment, establishing a new standard for modern tourism. To effectively manage the entire complex infrastructure, the Smart EMS energy management system will be deployed as a platform to coordinate and optimize operations. This solution will help control energy consumption, minimize waste, and improve exploitation efficiency, and will lay the foundation for a sustainable, integrated operating model across the ecosystem. This is viewed as a key step in advancing Sun Group’s capacity to manage large-scale infrastructure to international standards. Within the domestic context, Vietnam is also accelerating energy transition and sustainable development. The Sun Group–Keppel cooperation aligns with Party and Government direction, particularly Resolution No. 55-NQ/TW on the orientation of the national energy development strategy. The resolution stresses the need to develop a sustainable energy system, prioritize renewable energy, and promote energy efficiency, while encouraging the application of advanced technologies in the energy sector. This move also reinforces the national commitments reflected at COP26 and COP28, aiming to realize a net-zero emission target by 2050 through a green, smart, and sustainable energy transition. In remarks at the signing ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Vu Quynh Anh, Deputy General Director of Sun Group and CEO of the Entertainment - Resort division, stated: "Through this cooperation, green technology and smart energy solutions will become the core platform to elevate operating standards, reinforce ESG commitments, and develop sustainable tourism in Vietnam. These concrete actions will also support Phú Quốc and Vietnam ahead of APEC 2027." Mr. Poh Tiong Keng, CEO of Keppel EaaS, also expressed delight at the partnership with Sun Group to shape sustainable energy infrastructure in Vietnam. Sun Group’s collaboration with Keppel will continue to reinforce the ESG-based governance framework, with a philosophy of harmony with nature: minimal intervention, preserving and enhancing existing values—realized in projects ranging from InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort to roads that wind along terrain while preserving trees and rocks in Phú Quốc and Sa Pa. The partnership with Keppel will push Sun Group’s philosophy further, as technology becomes a tool to optimize operations, reduce environmental impact, and expand sustainable approaches across the entire ecosystem. In this way, the mission of "Beautifying the lands" is elevated to a long-term commitment for harmonious development of people, nature, and the future."
