On April 29, Ho Chi Minh City launched a set of key infrastructure projects to mark the 51st anniversary of the Liberation and Reunification, with Sun Group implementing three significant components under a public-private partnership (PPP) framework using a build-transfer (BT) contract. These are the renovation and modernization of the Ho Chi Minh Museum in the Ben Nghe - Khanh Hoi area (Xom Chiêu ward); the central city square; and the Ho Chi Minh City Administrative Center in the Thu Thiem new urban area. The Ho Chi Minh Museum – Ho Chi Minh City Branch renovation project is part of Phase I of the Ben Nghe-Rong Wharf - Khanh Hoi Cultural Park project and the public green space along the Saigon River, covering 147 hectares. Phase I spans 9 hectares and is designed around a central motif of flowing water, symbolizing history, the path of the nation’s leader, and the enduring values he represents. The water is divided into nine chapters, corresponding to nine periods in Ho Chi Minh's life. Each chapter guides visitors through the journeys of the revered leader, tracing how he carried the aspiration for an independent, free, and prosperous nation. Chapter 1 – The Source of Water (1890) evokes the rural Vietnamese countryside with lotus ponds, bamboo groves, and simple paths, recalling the homeland where he was born. Chapter 2 – The Flow into the Ocean (1911) models the departure from his homeland in search of a path to save the country. Chapter 3 – The Water Unites (1930) covers nearly 30 years during which he dedicated his life to achieving independence and freedom. Chapter 4 – The Water Returns to the Nation (1941) depicts the plain space of the northern mountains where the party's history is written on a stone, as he contemplated a new chapter in the struggle for independence. Chapter 5 – The Water Flows Underground (1942) creates a "Free Corridor," with space buried 1.5 meters underground, recalling the difficult but hopeful years of imprisonment. Subsequent chapters include The Water Flows to the Great Sea (1945), The Water of Tears (1969), The Water Unites (1975). The project is expected to be completed by September 2 this year. A highlight of the project is Independence Square, designed in a star-like pattern, with the final "Water Enduring" chapter and a symbolic light column extending to the sky, representing a great man who dedicated his life to the nation and the people, resilient and unwavering in the resolve to liberate the nation. Around the column of light are 79 fountains, symbolizing 79 sacred springs and reminding us of gratitude to the leader who steered the nation toward a spring of happiness today. According to Sun Group, the project is not simply a heritage conservation project; the Ben Nghe - Khanh Hoi Cultural Park opens a future axis of public space, culture, and ecological space along the Saigon River, connecting the existing city center with Thu Thiem and contributing to the holistic restructuring of the riverfront urban area. When completed, the park will be a major urban-space project along both riverbanks, linking past, present, and future in a continuous corridor where history is told in a living way for many generations of Vietnamese people and international friends. The port area is facing a bright outlook; the project also includes the administrative center building which borrows from the nation’s motto "Independence - Freedom - Happiness." The administrative center will house more than 8,000 civil servants, with 1,500 to 2,000 daily visitors, accessed through a modern one-stop service system. The project is planned for 2026–2028. Dang Minh Truong, Chairman of Sun Group, said that in addition to renovating the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the company has also been commissioned to invest in the square and the administrative center with a total investment of 29.6 trillion dong. SunGroup will mobilize all its capabilities, experience, and resources to execute the projects on schedule, with quality, prestige, and distinctiveness, helping to beautify Ho Chi Minh City. The administrative center building is planned to be about 30 stories tall, designed after the country’s motto "Independence - Freedom - Happiness". It will be the workplace for more than 8,000 civil servants and public employees, and will receive 1,500–2,000 daily visitors through a modern one-stop system. After hours, it will not be a closed building but a living urban-space that extends nightlife; the administrative center will be a dynamic part of daily life in Ho Chi Minh City. Together with a multipurpose theater and a Convention Center complex, the project will include a central park with a 12-hectare lake, creating a new, attractive symbol for Thu Thiem and Ho Chi Minh City. The project is scheduled for 2026–2028. Sun Group’s leadership confirms the company will mobilize capacity, experience, and resources to execute the projects on time, with quality and distinction, contributing to the beauty of Ho Chi Minh City.
