On the morning of June 24, Vietravel Airlines officially welcomed a new aircraft owned by the airline. The move is intended to boost operational capacity to meet rising travel demand during the peak summer period of 2026, as the aviation market continues to recover strongly.
The new aircraft is an Airbus A321, registration VN-A290, configured with 230 seats. It is scheduled to enter service on June 24. With this addition, Vietravel Airlines’ owned fleet increases to four aircraft, supporting the carrier’s plan to raise the share of owned aircraft and strengthen its proactive operating capacity.
Under the fleet expansion plan, Vietravel Airlines aims to add seven more aircraft to be in service in the last six months of 2026.
Developing an owned fleet is positioned as a way for Vietravel Airlines to better control operations and service, while demonstrating a long-term commitment to customers and the market. The airline also said the strategy reinforces its stance as a private carrier expanding in the region while delivering a complete travel experience, from comfort and service to the overall journey.
Vietravel Airlines continues to expand its owned-fleet strategy under the auspices of strategic shareholder TT Group.
Alongside capacity expansion, Vietravel Airlines is accelerating its digital transformation. The airline plans to launch a mobile online check-in app with biometric authentication to help passengers shorten check-in times at airports, particularly during peak hours.
Vietravel Airlines currently operates a network connecting key domestic economic and tourism centers and is gradually expanding into international markets. In addition to routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok, the airline has launched a Hanoi–Lanzhou (Gansu, China) charter service since June 20.
From August 2026, Vietravel Airlines will launch the Hanoi–Shenzhen route, and Hanoi–Macau is scheduled to follow later this year.
Earlier, on June 15, Vietravel Airlines opened the Hanoi–Buon Ma Thuot route, marking the return of service on the Hanoi–Cam Ranh route during the peak summer 2026 period.
To support travelers during the peak season, Vietravel Airlines rolled out promotions across its sales network, including:
The crypto bear market remained in force on Wednesday, with bitcoin slipping back toward the $60,000 area. Sharp pullbacks in gold and oil also weighed on the 2025 “debasement trade,” which had supported hard assets amid concerns about government debt and fiat currencies. Meanwhile, tech—particularly the AI boom—continued…
