On April 29, 2026, Vingroup officially commenced the International University City project in Xuan Thoi Son commune, Ho Chi Minh City. The launch ceremony also marked the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2026).
The International University City covers 880 hectares in the northwestern part of Ho Chi Minh City. It is connected to the southern economic hub via National Highway 22, Beltway 3, and the Ho Chi Minh City–Moc Bai Expressway.
The development is designed around water bodies, canals, and riverside parks, forming a “city within an island – an island within a city” spatial concept.
The project is planned into five zones inspired by major “great parks”:
The International University City includes a large education and research zone of more than 150 hectares. It also features Vinmec Hospital, Vincom Mega Mall, a 36-hole golf course, and other entertainment and dining facilities.
The project includes numerous green spaces, with around 100 parks. Key park areas cited include a 27-hectare Botanical Park, a 23-hectare Water Park, and a 10-hectare Japanese Garden. The development also includes the VinWonders area with family and children-friendly attractions.
Premium gym chains are entering a “golden era” that is ending or already in decline, as rising operating costs collide with shifting consumer preferences toward more flexible, community-based ways to exercise.
