VPBank Named Among Top 10 Green Enterprises for Net Zero Actions
On 8 July 2026, Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank) was named among the Top 10 Green Enterprises - Net Zero Action as part of the National Energy and Green Environment Sustainability awards in Vietnam, organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).
The award is one of Vietnam’s prestigious national programs to honor companies leading in business-model innovation, adoption of environmentally friendly technologies, and active contributions to Vietnam’s greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets. In the face of climate change and the global shift toward a green economy, VPBank’s recognition reflects a clear sustainability strategy and signals the bank’s leadership within the
finance and banking sector.

The Top 10 Green Enterprises - Net Zero Action title acknowledges VPBank’s ESG strategy, implemented over many years, that links business growth with green finance, sustainable governance, and social responsibility. Notably, VPBank has been a pioneer in channeling billions of dollars of global green finance into Vietnam and actively promotes green lending in key transition areas such as renewable energy, sustainable transportation, and the circular economy under strict international ESG governance standards. By the end of 2025, VPBank’s green credit outstanding stood at about VND 39 trillion, up 78% from 2024, exceeding the goal of contributing
USD 1 billion to green growth by 2030.
This scale reflects VPBank’s ability to work with enterprises in sectors crucial to the green transition, such as low-carbon transport, green buildings, recycling-circular economy, sustainable forestry and agriculture, and renewable energy. In 2025 alone, VPBank helped more than 29,000 individuals and nearly 300 corporate clients access green funding, up 6.3 times year-on-year.
Alongside growing green lending, VPBank has continually expanded its capacity to mobilize sustainable funding from international markets. In June 2026, VPBank and 15 international financial institutions signed the first sustainability-linked loan facility worth USD 1.44 billion. Previously, VPBank had mobilized nearly USD 5.2 billion of sustainable funding from international markets, and became the first bank in Vietnam to issue a USD 300 million green bond, broadening long-term funding channels for programs aligned with ESG standards.
Against Vietnam’s Net Zero goals and the shift to a low-carbon growth model, VPBank defines sustainable finance as a strategic path that channels capital into areas generating positive environmental, social, and economic impacts.
As of 2025, VPBank’s green credit outstanding remained at about VND 39 trillion, up 78% versus 2024.
To ensure growth is aligned with risk governance, the bank established a comprehensive ESG risk management framework that meets international standards and guidance from leading global financial institutions as well as Vietnamese State Bank regulations. On this foundation, VPBank is the first and only bank in Vietnam to publish climate-related financial information in line with the TCFD, conduct climate stress testing, and develop a sustainable finance framework to enhance climate-risk governance.
In recent times, VPBank’s efforts have been recognized by domestic and international organizations. The bank was named by The Asset as “Best Sustainable Finance Issuer in Vietnam 2026”; Top 10 ESG in the Comprehensive category at Vietnam ESG Awards 2025; and “Bank of the Year in Climate Risk Management” by Energy Risk Asia Awards.
A VPBank representative noted that the recognition as Top 10 Green Enterprises - Net Zero Action marks an important milestone in the bank’s sustainability journey. With ESG foundations already in place, the green finance portfolio continues to expand, and VPBank’s international fundraising capacity is affirmed. The bank will continue to accompany customers, enterprises, and the community in the transition to a more inclusive and sustainable green growth model.
