AST SpaceMobile, Inc. (NASDAQ: ASTS) said BlueBird 7 is scheduled to launch on April 19 from the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Cape Canaveral, Florida. Qualified retail shareholders are invited to attend the live event.
The orbital launch is scheduled for April 19, with a 6:45 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. EDT window, on Blue Origin’s New Glenn-3 mission from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
BlueBird 7 is part of AST SpaceMobile’s next-generation commercial satellites intended to deliver direct-to-device cellular broadband connectivity from low Earth orbit to standard, unmodified smartphones. The company expects the satellites to greatly exceed 120 Mbps peak data speeds.
AST said the next-generation BlueBird satellites use a phased-array antenna spanning approximately 2,400 square feet, engineered to provide the power and sensitivity needed to connect directly to everyday mobile phones from low Earth orbit. The satellites are designed to support full 4G and 5G broadband speeds, including voice, data, and video services.
“Every launch brings us closer to fulfilling our mission: connecting billions of people through space-based cellular broadband,” said Scott Wisniewski, President of AST SpaceMobile. He added that the satellites are engineered and built in Texas and described the launch as another milestone in deploying the company’s constellation.
To be eligible to attend the launch event in person, retail investors must hold shares, must have been shareholders for at least 6 months, and must be shareholders at the time of application.
Registration for a limited number of viewing spots closes at 8:00 p.m. EDT on Friday, April 17, 2026. AST SpaceMobile said it might conduct a random drawing among registrants if registrations exceed venue capacity.
AST SpaceMobile said it has more than 3,850 patents and patent-pending claims, and that it has 95% vertically integrated manufacturing across testing facilities in Midland, Texas and beyond, collectively spanning nearly 500,000 square feet.
The company also cited agreements with more than 50 mobile network operators globally with nearly 3 billion subscribers combined, and strategic partnerships with AT&T, Verizon, Vodafone, Rakuten, Google, American Tower, Bell, and stc Group.
AST SpaceMobile noted that launch timing is subject to change based on factors including launch readiness of the launch provider, weather conditions, and other considerations beyond its control. The company said members of the public will be able to watch a live broadcast on the launch day on AST SpaceMobile’s YouTube channel.
