Ba Huân Egg Company owes nearly 8.6 billion VND in social insurance arrears over 13 months, affecting 136 employees, according to a list of units late on social insurance payments for more than six months published by Ho Chi Minh City’s Social Insurance.
Earlier, on 17 November 2025, Ba Huân owed more than 7.8 billion VND in social insurance covering 414 employees. The subsequent increase in arrears alongside a decline in the number of employees points to continuing financial strain at the company.
The Ba Huân egg processing plant in Bình Chánh is reportedly scheduled to suspend operations from 16 May, citing unstable input materials and rising operating costs.
Market observations in Ho Chi Minh City indicate Ba Huân eggs have significantly reduced presence, particularly in supermarkets where the brand previously held a large market share.
Under the 2026 Ho Chi Minh City market stabilization program for 2026–2027, which starts on 1 April, Ba Huân participates only in the Grade 1 chicken egg category, with two product codes: 6-egg and 10-egg trays. Compared with last year’s program, Ba Huân no longer participates in duck egg items, which previously had two product codes.
