Carlsberg Vietnam, under the Huda brand, continued its partnership with VnExpress Marathon Hue 2026 on April 19, marking the fifth consecutive year of affiliation with the event. The sixth edition of the marathon in the ancient capital drew 8,000 runners.
Carlsberg Vietnam participated as the main sponsor and also organized internal activities to strengthen team cohesion. The brand’s products were showcased to the national running community through an experiential booth at the Expo, while Huda visuals were placed along the course near the finish line.
Nearly 200 Carlsberg Vietnam employees, including executives and CEO Andrew Khan, took part across various distances, running the heritage routes.
Hue is described as a key market for Carlsberg Vietnam, where the Phu Bai brewery is located and where the Huda brand is closely tied to local development. The company said maintaining the partnership with VnExpress Marathon Hue supports engagement with the local community, promotes a love of sports, and raises brand awareness in Vietnam’s Central region.
Carlsberg Vietnam said encouraging staff to participate in athletic activities is part of its strategy to develop human resources and build a sustainable working environment. CEO Andrew Khan said growth comes not only from strategy or metrics, but also from how closely the team is connected and aligned on goals.
“When leaders run alongside employees, that is how we build corporate culture,” he said.
Beyond sponsoring the event, Carlsberg Vietnam highlighted internal programs related to health and employee welfare, including initiatives around sport, team building, and employee health care, aimed at long-term talent development.
VnExpress Marathon is described as Vietnam’s largest running series, held in major tourist cities nationwide, including Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon and Ha Long. In Hue, the event first took place in 2020, with a hiatus in 2021 due to the pandemic.
This year, VnExpress Marathon Hue is also presented as the opening event of the city’s Summer Festival. Alongside 8,000 athletes, the race attracted thousands of relatives and family members to the ancient capital.
Carlsberg Vietnam said it has been recognized in workplace rankings, including the “Best Companies to Work for in Asia” award by HR Asia. Nearly 200 employees participated in the Hue race.
