The report also outlined a separate set of allegations and regulatory actions involving CP Vietnam and claims that the company supplied diseased pork.
May 30, 2025 — A Facebook account using the name “Jonny Lieu” (described as an employee of CP Vietnam) posted accusations that CP Vietnam supplied diseased pork, chicken, and rotten meat to Fresh Shop in Mỹ Xuyên (Soc Trang), which is now a ward of Cần Thơ. June 2, 2025 — The slaughterhouse operator in Hậu Giang (formerly) confirmed that images of diseased pigs posted by Mr. L.Q.N were genuine, but said the images had been repurposed for use as fish feed rather than being sold to the market.
June 4, 2025 — The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Environment sent a formal request to investigate the allegations. Separately, the Sóc Trăng Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism received a CP Vietnam request to take action against the Facebook account “Jonny Lieu” for sharing false information that damaged the company’s reputation.
June 6, 2025 — Mr. L.Q.N continued to provide additional images of diseased pigs. Sóc Trăng authorities stated there was no disease at that time and urged corrections to slaughter-control practices.
June 8, 2025 — The Environment Police (C05, Ministry of Public Security) began investigations into the allegations following a request from the Ministry of Agriculture and the Environment.
June 11, 2025 — Sóc Trăng Department of Agriculture and Environment fined three CP Vietnam Fresh Shop outlets for operating with expired safety certificates, imposing 35 million VND per store (total 105 million VND).
July 2, 2025 — Sóc Trăng Police announced there would be no criminal charges related to Mr. L.Q.N’s allegations.
July 3, 2025 — The Department of Livestock and Veterinary announced disciplinary actions against veterinary staff who stamped veterinary inspection certificates not in compliance with regulations.
August 3, 2025 — Can Tho City Police issued summons to Mr. L.Q.N.
